Researchers for The Archives of Internal Medicine studied the health of 32000 men over the course of two decades and have determined that approximately two and a half hours of aerobic exercise per week lowered the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by up to 52%. Doing the same amount of weight training was associated with a 34% lower risk. Combining the two forms of exercise resulted in the greatest reduction in risk.
